The Black Dahlia Murder

The Black Dahlia Murder is named after the unsolved murder of Elizabeth Short, often referred to as Black Dahlia. The band's music makes use of the melodic death metal sound, containing elements such as blast beats and fast death metal style. According to their MySpace page, their sound is influenced by Carcass, At the Gates, Darkane, Dissection, Morbid Angel, The Haunted, In Flames, Dimension Zero, Iron Maiden, Metallica, and Megadeth. Vocalist Trevor Strnad alternates between deep, throaty "death metal growls," high pitched shrieking, and "an almost hardcore scream."

Light This City was formed in 2002 around a mutual interested in melodic death metal like At The Gates and Carcass as much as the classic recordings of early thrash giants Megadeth and Testament, the band's impressive debut The Hero Cycle led to a deal with Prosthetic Records shortly thereafter. Next came 2005's critically-acclaimed Remains of The Gods, which earned the band a spot on Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles' best of 2005 list. Meshuggah

Meshuggah was formed in 1987 by vocalist and guitarist Jens Kidman and took the name Meshuggah from the Yiddish word for "crazy".

they are a Swedish five-piece experimental metal band, their particular sound is a fusion of fast tempo music and groovy riffs whit progressive metal.Meshuggah has become known for its complex, innovative and precise songwriting and musicianship, and polyrhythmic song structures. It has been labeled as one of the ten most important hard and heavy bands by Rolling Stone and as the most important band in metal by Alternative Press. Meshuggah has found little mainstream success but is a significant act in extreme underground music.
